White Oak Wooden Name Tags:
Oak is an interesting wood...very hard...course grain. We work with both White and Red.
You'll notice in the samples that the grain is relatively visable and that the engraving is not consistant. This lack of consistancy is the result of the wood grain being relatively bold as opposed to tight, or fine. As the laser burns across the wood the laser encounters different textures in the Oak. The burning is therefore not consistant. Therefore the coloration in the engraving varies from light to dark.
If you are looking for a name tag that is rough and tough, a nametag that says "strong", then consider using either White or Red Oak. Oak does not hold detail as well as a tight grained wood.
